Members of the Legge family have lived in Litton Cheney for many years, originally owning the Court House which can be seen across the paddocks from the house. In the early 1900's this was the family home of Henry Legge and his 5 children. One of the daughters then married a local farmer and it is her grand-daughter, Pippa, who is now managing the property for us, she still lives and farms locally.
The house was sold and two cottages were retained and my widowed aunt lived in the village for most of her later life. My father Patrick, returned to the village on his retirement in the 1970's and Court Close was built. He and my mother lived in the house for the rest of their lives, and my mother created the lovely gardens, the essence of which remain today.
Litton Cheney, (and its delightful church), are therefore very special to my family and extended family. It is full of character, very picturesque and fantastically situated for all the surrounding attractions.
We really hope that our guests will enjoy the house as much as we all have over the years as a family.
